Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation is set to acquire a 49% stake in a large-scale renewable energy project being developed by Hero Future Energies (HFE), combining solar and wind generation with battery storage in Karnataka. Under the partnership, Sumitomo Corporation will invest in Clean Solar Power (Baniyana) Pvt. Ltd., the company undertaking the project. Hero Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of HFE will hold the remaining 51% stake.
