POM Power India has deployed an integrated clean-energy system for Bharat Electronics Limited’s (BEL) BEL SUSTRAGRID at its Bengaluru Complex, bringing together solar power generation, battery energy storage and electric vehicle charging infrastructure within a single sustainable energy ecosystem.
The system inaugurated as BEL SUSTRAGRID by Shri Rajnish Sharma, Director – Bengaluru Complex, BEL in the presence of Shri T.N. Singh, General Manager (HR/BG) and Shri Sanjay Agarwal, General Manager (CS/CO), has transformed BEL’s car parking area into a solar PV-based parking shelter while creating infrastructure for cleaner and more reliable EV charging. BEL’s official announcement highlights the project’s role in improving renewable energy utilization, enhancing energy resilience and contributing to carbon-emission reduction.

Integrated Clean Energy Infrastructure
The POM Power-deployed system comprises a 90 kWp on-grid solar photovoltaic plant, two 60 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units, two DC fast EV chargers and four AC slow EV chargers. The integrated architecture combines renewable energy generation, energy storage and EV charging to support sustainable mobility and more resilient energy utilization.
By integrating these technologies at a single site, the project demonstrates how solar generation and battery storage can be combined with EV charging infrastructure to create a more self-reliant and sustainable charging ecosystem. According to POM Power, the deployment reflects its capabilities across solar power systems, battery energy storage systems, DC and AC EV chargers, hybrid solar inverters and complete energy infrastructure solutions.

Enabling Sustainable Mobility
The BEL SUSTRAGRID deployment is designed to support the growing adoption of electric mobility while making greater use of renewable energy. The solar-powered parking structure generates clean electricity while providing covered parking, while the battery storage system helps support the integrated charging infrastructure. BEL has positioned the initiative as part of its broader commitment to energy efficiency, technological innovation and environmental sustainability.
