Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has secured a ₹52.86 crore Letter of Intent (LOI) from Aurionpro Solutions Limited for supplying electrical cables to a hyperscale data centre project in Hyderabad. The order includes HT and LT power cables and is expected to be executed in phases as construction progresses at the site.

The development gives Diamond Power that operates under the DICABS brand another order in India’s growing data centre infrastructure segment.

Aurionpro Solutions is the appointed EPC contractor for the HYD-20 package of the Hyderabad data centre campus. Diamond Power said cable supplies will begin immediately and will be delivered on a staggered schedule aligned with the project’s construction programme. The order is valued at approximately ₹52.86 crores, including GST.

A Copper-led Order

The order is predominantly copper-intensive and comprises approximately 130 kilometres of cable. More than 116 kilometres of the total order consists of 1100 V grade, XLPE-insulated, FRLS-sheathed 1C x 300 sq mm copper conductor cable, which will serve as the backbone distribution cable for high-density server halls.

The remaining portion of the order includes 33 kV (E) grade aluminium XLPE armoured FRLS cables, 1.1 kV aluminium armoured LT power cables and copper control cables. These products are being manufactured to the client’s IEC 61914 cleat and fire-performance specifications.

The order draws directly on the copper wire drawing and copper cable manufacturing line recently commissioned by DICABS, which has a capacity of 1,500 MT of copper cables per month.

According to the company, the facility was established to cater to high-intensity power applications, including data centres and power plants. The copper manufacturing capability also marks Diamond Power’s expansion into copper-based cables alongside its established aluminium cables and conductors business.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the order, Umesh Chayya, Whole Time Director, Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited said: “Data centres are the single fastest-growing load centre in India, and they demand cable of a quality and consistency that very few plants in the country can deliver at scale. This order validates two things — the decision to invest in copper capability, and our ability to hold delivery schedules against a construction programme that moves week to week. We are supplying into this campus through more than one EPC partner, and we intend to be the reference cable supplier for India’s data centre build-out, our Order book for Data Center at Present value exceeds Rs 575 cr. – we expect to target this segment aggressively”
