MaxVolt Energy Industries Limited has conducted the Bhoomi Pujan for its proposed 10 GWh lithium battery-pack manufacturing campus in Aligarh. The ₹700-crore expansion is intended to strengthen the company’s manufacturing presence across electric mobility, energy storage systems, telecom and power-backup applications, while also adding dedicated production lines for OEM customers and expanding its portfolio into batteries for four-wheeler EVs.
The proposed Aligarh campus will complement MaxVolt Energy’s existing 2.5 GWh manufacturing facility in Duhai, Ghaziabad, which is currently operational. Upon full development of the Aligarh project, the company’s combined annual manufacturing capacity across the two locations is planned to reach 12.5 GWh.
Project and Timeline:
The facility will focus on lithium battery-pack manufacturing and assembly, rather than battery-cell production. MaxVolt Energy plans to assemble battery packs and integrate related components, including battery management systems (BMS), chargers and inverters. Construction is expected to begin immediately after the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony.
The project will be developed in two phases, with each phase designed for 5 GWh of capacity. Phase I is targeted for commissioning within 24 to 30 months, while Phase II is expected to be completed within a further 18 months. The company has positioned the development as Uttar Pradesh’s largest upcoming battery manufacturing project.
With the Bhoomi Pujan, MaxVolt Energy moves the Aligarh project into construction, adding planned capacity across the full range of applications it serves and strengthening India’s domestic battery pack manufacturing base

The project will be funded through a combination of internal accruals, debt and planned capital raises, and project-specific funding details will be communicated through the company’s appropriate disclosures.”

We are targeting the first 5 GWh within 24 to 30 months, proving it in live production, and carrying those learnings into the second phase over the following 18 months. That keeps the supply chain ramping at a pace it can hold and closes the gap between announced capacity and shipped product.”

What follows a plant of this size, from component suppliers to skilled employment, is what turns a single factory into an industrial cluster.
The Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022 provides for capital subsidy of up to 30 per cent of fixed capital investment for EV and battery projects, alongside stamp duty reimbursement, certification support and skilling incentives. The project has been supported by UPSIDA-facilitated industrial infrastructure and expedited approvals.”
