Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL) has secured a major contract from Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) to supply 4,820 kilometres of AL59 aluminium alloy conductors for two key power transmission projects in India. The order further strengthens Diamond Power’s presence in the country’s fast-growing transmission infrastructure sector, which is witnessing significant investments to support rising electricity demand and renewable energy integration.
The Letter of Award (LoA) received from Adani Energy Solutions on behalf of its project special purpose vehicles (SPVs) covers the design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, packing, dispatch and transportation of AL59 conductors for the Tuticorin and Pune-III transmission projects.
Under the agreement, Diamond Power will supply 1,050 kilometres of AL59 Moose conductors for the Tuticorin project and 3,770 kilometres of AL59 Zebra conductors for the Pune-III project. Deliveries are scheduled between July 2026 and February 2027, in line with the execution timelines of the transmission projects.
The contract is valued at ₹185.16 crores excluding Goods and Services Tax (GST), while the total value including GST stands at approximately ₹218.49 crores. The final contract value will be determined under a price variation mechanism linked to aluminium prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) and fluctuations in the USD-INR exchange rate.
The order comes at a time when India’s transmission network is expanding rapidly to accommodate growing renewable energy capacity, improve grid reliability and strengthen interstate power connectivity. Advanced aluminium alloy conductors such as AL59 are increasingly being adopted for high-capacity transmission lines due to their improved mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and efficient power-carrying capability.
