L&T Vyoma, Larsen & Toubro’s sovereign AI cloud and digital infrastructure business has partnered with Fortanix Inc. to deliver secure sovereign AI solutions for enterprises and government organizations in India. The collaboration will leverage NVIDIA Confidential Computing technology to help organizations deploy artificial intelligence applications while protecting sensitive data and meeting India’s growing data sovereignty requirements.
As businesses accelerate AI adoption, concerns around data privacy, regulatory compliance and cybersecurity continue to grow, particularly across sectors such as banking, financial services, healthcare and government. Through this strategic collaboration, L&T Vyoma will provide sovereign AI infrastructure, including secure data centres, high-performance computing resources and networking capabilities, while Fortanix will deliver advanced data security for AI workloads using NVIDIA Confidential Computing.
The companies said the partnership is designed to enable enterprises to confidently adopt AI-driven services without compromising the confidentiality of sensitive information. By ensuring data remains protected during processing, the solution addresses one of the most significant security challenges facing modern AI deployments.
Unlike conventional security models that primarily safeguard data at rest or during transmission, confidential computing protects information while it is actively being processed. The technology uses hardware-based Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to keep workloads encrypted throughout computation, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and strengthening regulatory compliance.

The platform will also provide cryptographic verification of trusted computing environments and help customers comply with India’s evolving data governance and sovereignty regulations.

As part of the partnership, L&T Vyoma and Fortanix will jointly develop sovereign AI and cybersecurity solutions, pursue co-selling opportunities across regulated industries and support enterprises through proof-of-concept and proof-of-value programmes. L&T Vyoma will also work with leading Indian AI model developers to strengthen the country’s sovereign AI ecosystem.
