Siemens Energy has announced that Omterra will become its new global brand, bringing together Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy under a single identity as the company prepares for its next phase of independent growth.
The transition follows Siemens Energy’s successful evolution since its spin-off from Siemens AG in 2020. According to the company, the move is aligned with the time-limited licensing agreement governing the use of the Siemens Energy name and reflects its ambition to strengthen its independent presence in the global energy market.
The new Omterra brand has been designed to represent Siemens Energy’s expanding international footprint, engineering expertise and commitment to supporting secure, reliable and sustainable energy systems worldwide. The company said the transition is a branding initiative and does not alter its business strategy, customer commitments or long-term growth plans.
Once implemented, Omterra will serve as the unified identity for both Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa, creating a consistent global brand across the company’s energy technology portfolio.

Commenting on the announcement, Christian Bruch, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Energy, said: “Since our spin-off, it has been clear that the licensed Siemens Energy brand would be available to us for a limited period. Today, our company is well positioned strategically, operationally and financially. We have earned the trust of our customers and the capital markets, improved our profitability, and have ambitious growth plans for the years ahead. Against this backdrop and given that the current brand agreement is time-limited, now is the right time to begin the transition to our own independent brand.”
He added: “We are proud of what our employees have built over the past few years. Our founder’s name opened doors and supported us on our path to independence. This legacy remains both an inspiration and a commitment for us as we actively help shape the energy world of tomorrow.”
According to Siemens Energy, the name Omterra has been chosen to reflect the company’s global outlook, technological leadership and commitment to enabling the energy transition. The company said the brand embodies its vision of delivering innovative technologies that support dependable electricity systems while advancing decarbonization efforts across international markets.
The rebranding programme will begin later this year and will be introduced in phases across the organization. Throughout the transition, Siemens Energy said customers, business partners and employees can expect continuity in operations, products and services while the company gradually adopts its new global identity.
The announcement marks a significant milestone in Siemens Energy’s journey as an independent energy technology company, positioning Omterra as the brand that will represent its future business across conventional and renewable energy solutions.
