Microwave Factory (MWF) and Rohde & Schwarz have joined forces to deliver faster, fully automated Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurements for 5G NR and LTE devices. As part of the collaboration, MATEOS, MWF’s high-speed SAR measurement software, now integrates SPEAG’s cSAR3D vector array system with the Rohde & Schwarz CMX500 one-box signaling tester within a single workflow. This enables users to manage the measurement process through one interface, significantly reducing setup time compared with earlier workflows that involved manual call configuration and separate setup procedures on the CMX500 platform.
The integration was developed in response to customer demand for automated SAR measurements using the CMX500 alongside SPEAG’s SAR systems. The current solution supports 5G NR Standalone (SA), 5G NR Non-Standalone (NSA) and LTE, providing a streamlined approach for SAR testing during mobile device development and certification. By bringing signaling and SAR measurement capabilities together, the workflow is designed to improve efficiency and consistency throughout the testing process.

SAR measurements are a critical part of mobile device testing, helping verify compliance with established human exposure limits. With 5G devices and wireless technologies continuing to advance, manufacturers, test houses and certification laboratories increasingly require measurement solutions that combine speed, automation and reliability. The MATEOS integration addresses this need by simplifying the SAR measurement workflow while supporting the latest 5G NR and LTE technologies.
