Hindustan Power has achieved financial closure for its 435 MWp/300 MW solar power project in Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant solar financing milestone for the project. The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has sanctioned ₹1,135 crore in debt for the project.
The solar financing secured from IREDA is expected to support the project’s ongoing development as construction work progresses according to the planned schedule. The project is expected to add to Uttar Pradesh’s growing renewable energy capacity once operational.
The financial closure represents an important step in Hindustan Power’s renewable energy expansion and strengthens its focus on developing large-scale solar projects in the state. The project is also expected to contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s increasing demand for clean energy.
Hindustan Power was awarded the project through a competitive bidding process in 2025 and has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). With a planned capacity of 435 MWp/300 MW, the Lalitpur project is among the larger solar developments underway in Uttar Pradesh and is expected to contribute to the state’s future power requirements.
