L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore), the hydrocarbon EPC arm of Larsen & Toubro, has secured an ultra-mega contract for a gas compression project in the Middle East. The contract follows a letter of award issued in FY26 and involves the development of new onshore gas compression facilities for a major client in the region.
The L&T gas compression project covers engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of gas compression plants and associated facilities. The scope includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and related utilities.
The new onshore facilities will be developed to process sour gas while meeting applicable client standards, codes and project-specific requirements. The project will add significant gas compression and utility infrastructure to support the client’s operations in the Middle East.

L&T to Execute Two 230 kV Substations
As part of the project’s power infrastructure, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will execute two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations. The substations will support the power requirements of the gas compression plants, adding an integrated power transmission component to the project.
Commenting on the project, E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President & Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore said: “The contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure. The project draws on our extensive experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces our capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications.”
