Tamil Nadu has announced three major projects spanning semiconductor manufacturing, financial technology and logistics, with new facilities planned in Kanchipuram, Coimbatore and the Tiruchirappalli region.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay on Monday announced three major projects covering semiconductor manufacturing, FinTech and logistics in the state. Among the key projects is a Semiconductor & Electronics Manufacturing Park at Maduramangalam in Kanchipuram district, which will be developed by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) at an estimated cost of ₹175 crore.
According to the government announcement, the park will include research and development infrastructure aimed at supporting the setting up of new semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The project is expected to attract investments of around ₹2,000 crore in the semiconductor sector and generate approximately 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The Kanchipuram project is intended to help Tamil Nadu attract larger investments in the semiconductor industry and increase the state’s share in the sector.

₹400 crore Coimbatore FinTech Hub
The state has also announced the establishment of the Coimbatore FinTech Hub through the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). The project has an estimated cost of ₹400 crore and will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The proposed hub will have facilities including office space, startup support infrastructure, advanced laboratories and training and skill-development facilities. The government expects the centre to help attract global investments in the financial and financial technology sectors while supporting technology adoption and high-quality employment in Coimbatore.
Tiruchirappalli to get multi-modal logistics hub
A third project has been announced for the Tiruchirappalli region, with TIDCO tasked with undertaking the study and preparing the project report for a Multi-Modal Logistics Hub. The announcement follows the Tamil Nadu government’s 2026-27 Budget commitment to develop multi-modal logistics parks and dry ports at key locations to attract investments.
The Tiruchirappalli region has been identified for the project because the central Tamil Nadu area and neighbouring districts have a significant presence of manufacturing industries and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The government release states that TIDCO will conduct the study and prepare the project report, following which the logistics hub will be established in the Tiruchirappalli region.
