Andhra Pradesh has cleared a ₹526.25 crore package of information technology and frontier-technology projects, strengthening the state’s quantum investments and broader push into quantum computing, photonics and AI-driven biotechnology. The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) chaired by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu approved 10 projects on Friday that are expected to create 8,896 jobs across Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Kadapa.

Visakhapatnam lands large IT operations and training hubs

Visakhapatnam emerges as a key beneficiary, with two seat-intensive facilities anchoring the city’s IT ambitions. Global professional services firm Deloitte has received approval to invest ₹43.75 crore in a new operations centre with a capacity of 2,500 seats. In parallel, Muthoot Fincorp has been cleared for a ₹100-crore Integrated Hub for AI and Tech Training Centre, with around 2,400 seats.

Taken together, the two projects represent ₹143.75 crore of the tech package and nearly 5,000 seats, reinforcing Visakhapatnam’s positioning as a destination for IT-enabled services and large-scale skilling infrastructure.

Amaravati’s quantum and deep-tech corridor

Amaravati is being developed as a national node for quantum and deep-tech, with 7 of the 10 approved projects focused on quantum technologies. Quantum Codon Pvt Ltd will invest ₹167 crore in an integrated quantum AI-driven biotechnology innovation campus aimed at drug-discovery research, with 126 jobs projected.

Arohak Technologies has proposed a ₹62-crore Photonics Quantum Research and Innovation Centre, expected to employ around 300 people. TriQuanta Labs will set up a ₹35-crore quantum innovation centre and hybrid quantum computing hardware manufacturing facility, adding 175 jobs. Smaller but specialized facilities include Photoncore Systems’ ₹9-crore photonic quantum computing systems plant (45 jobs) and Veridata Health’s ₹4.5-crore quantum-enabled clinical technology engineering hub (50 jobs).

State officials have also highlighted a proposed ₹2,700-crore “Srsti Quantum” project involving quantum computing hardware and nanofabrication research, with an estimated 3,000 jobs, though this larger initiative is separate from the ₹526.25-crore tranche cleared on 18th September.

Kadapa’s Electronics Manufacturing Push

In Kadapa, the SIPB approved an extension of the policy incentive timeline for AIL Dixon Technologies’ ₹70-crore electronics manufacturing unit, expected to support around 300 jobs. The move aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s broader emphasis on electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) as part of an advanced manufacturing ecosystem that also includes semiconductors, robotics and logistics.

Part of a wider ₹22,178 crore investment wave

The tech-focused approvals form part of a larger investment round cleared at the 21st SIPB meeting. In all, 28 industrial proposals involving ₹22,177.84 crore were approved, with projected employment for nearly 19,739-20,000 people across energy, IT and communications, food processing, manufacturing and tourism.

Separately, the state has signed an MoU with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited for a proposed greenfield shipyard at Dugarajapatnam, reported at around ₹15,000 crore with potential direct and indirect employment for approximately 45,000 people, subject to further approvals.

Strategic shift: From IT Services to Deep-Tech

By backing seven quantum-related projects alongside large IT operations and training centres, Andhra Pradesh is signalling a strategic shift from conventional IT services towards high-value R&D, hardware and AI-biotech intersections. The combination of seat-heavy facilities in Visakhapatnam and specialized quantum and photonics centres in Amaravati is designed to create both scale and depth in the state’s technology ecosystem.

With policy support for electronics manufacturing in Kadapa and parallel pushes in semiconductors, robotics and shipbuilding, the latest SIPB decisions tie immediate tech-sector proposals to a longer-term vision of advanced manufacturing, research and maritime industries.
