GK Energy Limited has received a Letter of Empanelment (LOE) from a State Government-owned power distribution utility for the execution of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects across 1 lakh households. The empanelment involves the installation of 1 kW rooftop solar systems at 1,00,000 households, aggregating to a total capacity of 100 MW. The projects have an aggregate contract value of approximately ₹454.50 crores, including GST.

Under the project scope, GK Energy will undertake the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected rooftop solar PV systems. The company will also provide operations and maintenance services for a period of five years. The projects are to be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the respective work orders.

GK Energy’s Rooftop Solar Expansion

The latest empanelment expands GK Energy’s presence in the rooftop solar segment and adds to its portfolio of decentralized renewable energy projects.

GK Energy said it will leverage its existing execution capabilities and on-ground network for the implementation of the projects. The company has also received allocations and empanelments of more than ₹1,092 crores, including GST since 01st April, 2026.

Focus on Decentralized Renewable Energy

GK Energy operates in the decentralized renewable energy infrastructure segment, with activities spanning solar-powered agricultural pumping systems, rooftop solar systems and distributed clean energy solutions.

According to the company, it had cumulatively installed more than 164,500 renewable energy systems and commissioned over 726 MW of renewable energy capacity across India as of June 2026. The company said its operations span more than 7,500 villages and are supported by warehousing infrastructure, logistics capabilities and a network of installation and commissioning partners across multiple states.

The latest rooftop solar empanelment adds 100 MW of capacity across 1 lakh households to the company’s expanding presence in India’s decentralized renewable energy sector.
