Yulu, India’s leading shared electric vehicle (EV) mobility technology company has expanded its operations to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, through its franchisee-led Yulu Business Partner (YBP) initiative. The service in the city is being operated by Tezz Mobility, founded by first-generation entrepreneurs Dharamveer Singh Bhadoriya and Siddharth Jain.
The launch strengthens Yulu’s growing presence in Central India while introducing its hyperlocal electric mobility ecosystem to Bhopal, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and scenic lakes. The rollout also marks Yulu’s ninth partner-led expansion following successful launches in cities including Indore, Kochi, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Vadodara, Kolkata, Chandigarh Tri-city, and Coimbatore.
Bhopal: A Market Ready for EV-Powered Logistics
The rapid expansion of quick commerce, food delivery and e-commerce services in Bhopal has significantly increased the need for reliable last-mile mobility solutions. However, unlike major metro cities, much of this demand continues to be met through conventional petrol-powered vehicles rather than purpose-built electric delivery vehicles. The situation is further challenged by the lack of flexible rental and pay-per-use mobility options, often requiring delivery partners to purchase their own vehicles and depend on fuel reimbursements. In addition, the city’s EV ecosystem remains underdeveloped due to limited charging and servicing infrastructure, as existing operators have struggled to achieve large-scale fleet viability.
Yulu aims to address these challenges through its integrated electric mobility platform that combines purpose-built EVs, battery-swapping infrastructure and technology-driven fleet operations. The company currently manages nearly 50,000 vehicles across multiple Indian cities. In collaboration with Tezz Mobility, Yulu has established a city-wide network of strategically positioned Yulu Zones, a centralized operations and service hub, and an extensive battery-swapping network powered by Yuma Energy. The partnership brings together Yulu’s mobility ecosystem and Tezz Mobility’s on-ground execution capabilities and local expertise, with a long-term vision of enabling fully electric delivery operations in Bhopal.
During the initial phase, the service will focus on high-demand delivery hubs such as Shahpura, before gradually expanding to nearby areas including Hoshangabad Road, New Market, TT Nagar, Kolar Road and Habibganj.
Enabling a New Model for Urban Logistics
Speaking about the launch, Amit Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, Yulu, said, “Bhopal represents a strong market opportunity characterized by rising delivery demand and a thriving gig economy. With 45+ dark stores and thriving food delivery activity, the Bhopal market has room for 8,000 delivery riders. Through our partnership with Tezz Mobility, Yulu is delighted to build a scalable, tech-driven logistics backbone to cater to this demand. Yulu’s proven mobility stack and segment expertise, coupled with Dharamveer and Siddharth’s operational prowess, will accelerate Bhopal’s transition toward a more efficient, sustainable and future-ready mobility ecosystem.”
Elaborating on the partnership, Dharamveer Singh Bhadoriya, Co-promoter, Tezz Mobility, said, “Our previous experience as a supplier to leading quick commerce brands has given us a first-hand understanding of the operational challenges delivery ecosystems face every day. With Yulu’s platform, we are bringing a proven, end-to-end solution that allows Bhopal’s delivery partners to access reliable, affordable and sustainable mobility while helping aggregators to meet their EV commitments from day one.”
Siddharth Jain, Co-promoter, Tezz Mobility, added, “Yulu’s full-stack platform, brand trust and aggregator relationships have enabled Tezz Mobility to reduce our build time from 1.5 years to mere weeks. The Tezz team is excited to transform Bhopal’s mobility landscape. The longer arc is to turn Bhopal into a reference model for every subsequent city.”
To ensure that the service hits the ground running, Yulu conducted a comprehensive training, assessment and onboarding programme for Tezz Mobility’s on-ground team and has also facilitated meetings with key strategic enterprise partners.
Going forward, Tezz Mobility plans to scale its operations to over 1,000 EVs over the next 2-3 years, expanding across Bhopal and other high-potential cities in north and west India.
