A new livelihood opportunity is taking shape for tribal women in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, with Roshani, the CSR initiative of RR Kabel joining hands with Keshav Srushti to launch the Mahila Swavlamban Kendra. The Common Facility Centre inaugurated by Smt. Ratnidevi Rameshwarlal Kabra of RR Global Group has been established at Keshav Srushti Oxygen Park in Balkapara, Jawhar, with a focus on building skills and income opportunities around bamboo-based products.
The initiative aims to bring 350 tribal women into a three-year training programme covering bamboo craftsmanship, product development and entrepreneurship. Beyond training, the centre will provide women with a shared space to work and support them in developing and taking eco-friendly bamboo products to market. By creating opportunities within their own communities, the programme seeks to help women turn traditional skills and local resources into sustainable livelihoods while supporting greater economic independence, rural enterprise and local employment.

As the center kick-starts its mission, tribal families in the region can look forward to strengthening their local incomes and supporting the broader movement of promoting handicraft and sustainable products.
