Rohde & Schwarz has equipped independent test house BTL Laboratory in Taiwan with a complete R&S TS8991 over-the-air (OTA) test system that complies with CTIA Certification standards. Alongside the deployment, Rohde & Schwarz experts provided extensive hands-on support throughout the mandatory accreditation process. This collaboration positions BTL as the first test house in Taiwan to offer comprehensive OTA testing and certification services for wireless devices in accordance with CTIA Certification OTA requirements using a Rohde & Schwarz-based system.
To support this milestone, BTL selected Rohde & Schwarz to deliver a fully integrated, CTIA Certification-compliant turnkey OTA testing solution at one of its accredited testing laboratories in Taiwan. The single-source solution included the R&S TS8991 OTA test system, dedicated measurement software, and a ready-to-operate third-party test chamber with positioner. In addition, Rohde & Schwarz specialists worked closely with BTL on-site, providing technical guidance and support during the two essential accreditation audits conducted by the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) and CTIA Certification, ensuring high standards of measurement accuracy and testing proficiency.
Rohde & Schwarz and BTL worked in close coordination to ensure that the test chamber and supporting infrastructure delivered an interference-free environment essential for accurate and reliable OTA measurements. By providing the complete solution from a single source, Rohde & Schwarz also streamlined the procurement and deployment process, offering greater convenience and efficiency compared to multi-vendor setups.
As the first CTIA Certification-accredited laboratory in Taiwan to deploy the R&S TS8991 system, BTL now provides advanced OTA testing services for wireless devices operating across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies, with a particular focus on notebooks and laptops. The ready-to-use system features upgradeable measurement software, enabling continued compatibility with emerging wireless technologies, including A-GNSS. Leveraging its expertise in antenna measurement, Rohde & Schwarz further supported BTL in expanding its testing portfolio to include specialized applications such as satellite payload antenna assessment.
