Vikram Solar has secured a 187 MW supply order for solar modules from a leading renewable energy developer for projects at three locations across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The order covers high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon G12R modules with power ratings ranging from 615 to 625 Wp, featuring bifacial technology and glass-to-glass construction. The order adds to the company’s project pipeline as demand for high-efficiency photovoltaic modules remains an important part of India’s expanding solar energy sector.

TOPCon Technology at the centre of the order

Under the agreement, Vikram Solar will supply N-Type TOPCon G12R modules designed for solar power applications. The modules combine bifacial technology with glass-to-glass construction and offer power ratings of 615-625 Wp.

Bifacial modules can generate electricity from sunlight reaching both the front and rear surfaces, depending on installation conditions and the amount of reflected light available. The technology can help improve energy generation potential at suitable project sites.

The specified power range also places the order within the high-wattage module segment, where module efficiency, output and project-specific performance requirements are important considerations for developers.

Existing developer relationship supports order win

The latest order builds on Vikram Solar’s existing association with the renewable energy developer. The company said the engagement reflects continued confidence in its technology portfolio and execution capabilities.

The announcement also adds to Vikram Solar’s growing order pipeline as it expands its presence in India’s solar manufacturing and renewable energy ecosystem. The company’s focus on high-efficiency modules comes amid broader efforts to scale domestic manufacturing capacity and support the country’s clean energy ambitions.

India has set a target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030, creating a significant role for solar power alongside other renewable energy sources and supporting infrastructure.

Vikram Solar highlights performance and reliability

Commenting on the order, Sameer Nagpal, Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar said the solar industry’s expansion is increasing the focus on technologies that deliver performance, reliability and long-term value across utility-scale projects.

He added that the company remains committed to advancing its technology capabilities and maintaining the manufacturing and execution standards expected by customers. The company also aims to provide dependable, high-efficiency solar solutions to meet the evolving requirements of India’s renewable energy sector.

Order execution scheduled for December 2026

The 187 MW order strengthens Vikram Solar’s presence in the utility-scale solar module supply segment, with projects spanning three locations in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The agreement highlights the continued role of advanced photovoltaic technology in India’s solar project pipeline. Execution of the order is scheduled for completion by December 2026.
