Solar EPC solutions are gaining importance as energy-intensive industries explore ways to incorporate renewable power into their operations. Hartek Power has secured an 80 MW turnkey solar EPC project worth approximately ₹200 crore from a leading steel manufacturer in Uttar Pradesh, strengthening its presence in India’s commercial and industrial renewable energy segment.

The project is intended to support the manufacturer’s captive power consumption, enabling greater integration of solar energy into its overall energy mix. Hartek Power expects to complete the project by 31st December 2026.

The latest order adds to the company’s industrial solar portfolio at a time when businesses are increasingly evaluating renewable energy as part of their long-term power planning and sustainability strategies.

Turnkey Solar EPC Scope Covers Equipment Supply and Commissioning

Under the contract, Hartek Power will manage the complete engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope for the project. Its responsibilities will include engineering, equipment procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.

The company will also supply essential equipment required for the solar installation, including solar modules, inverters, power transformers and inverter duty transformers (IDTs).

The integrated scope brings together project engineering, equipment supply and on-site execution under a single turnkey mandate. This approach is intended to deliver the infrastructure required to support the customer’s captive solar power requirements.

The 80 MW project will support the captive power requirements of a leading steel manufacturer in Uttar Pradesh.

Captive Solar Gains Relevance in Industrial Energy Planning

Industries with substantial electricity requirements are exploring renewable energy options to diversify their power mix and support operational efficiency. Captive solar installations can help businesses use renewable electricity for their own consumption, subject to the applicable project configuration and regulatory framework.

For energy-intensive sectors such as steel, integrating solar power into industrial operations can form part of a broader strategy to manage energy requirements and advance decarbonization objectives.

The Hartek Power project reflects this trend, with the 80 MW installation intended to contribute to the customer’s captive power consumption. Its implementation will add another industrial solar development to Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy landscape.

Hartek Power Builds on Its Renewable Energy Execution Experience

Commenting on the project win, Mr. Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and CEO of Hartek Power said that the increasing adoption of renewable energy by energy-intensive industries reflects a wider shift towards cleaner and more efficient power solutions.

He said the company’s commercial and industrial renewable energy business works with large enterprises to support their decarbonization plans and long-term net-zero ambitions. Singh also highlighted the importance of engineering capabilities, reliable equipment supply and execution in delivering integrated solar EPC solutions.

According to the company, Hartek has connected more than 10 GW of solar capacity to the national grid and executed renewable energy projects across multiple states. Its capabilities span solar EPC and power infrastructure, including design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.

₹200 Crore Order Adds to India’s Industrial Solar Momentum

The 80 MW project strengthens Hartek Power’s position in the industrial renewable energy segment and adds to its portfolio of turnkey solar assignments.

As companies assess how renewable power can fit into their energy strategies, projects serving captive consumption requirements are becoming an important part of the wider clean energy discussion. Their contribution will depend on factors including project execution, energy demand, system configuration and applicable regulations.

With completion expected by 31st December 2026, Hartek Power’s latest contract places industrial solar and captive renewable power at the centre of its next project milestone.
