Semiconductor testing is rapidly evolving as Artificial Intelligence (AI) transforms the way modern chips are designed, validated and manufactured. One of the highlights of the company’s participation was the keynote address delivered by Senthilkumar Dhamodharan, Vice President – Testing, Caliber Interconnects, titled “From Silicon Complexity to AI Revolution – India’s Silicon Leap 2047.” The presentation explored how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the global semiconductor industry at a time when chip complexity, heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging technologies continue to grow.

During the keynote, Dhamodharan explained how AI is becoming an integral part of every stage of the semiconductor lifecycle—from intelligent chip design automation and predictive manufacturing to AI-powered Automated Test Equipment (ATE), digital twins and advanced signal integrity analysis. According to the company, these technologies are helping semiconductor manufacturers improve product quality, shorten validation cycles, reduce manufacturing costs and accelerate time-to-market.

The presentation also highlighted how AI-driven semiconductor testing is becoming increasingly important as chips power applications ranging from artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles to telecommunications, healthcare and defence.

Beyond discussing technology trends, the keynote also focused on India’s growing importance in the global semiconductor ecosystem. Drawing upon the momentum generated by the India Semiconductor Mission, upcoming fabrication facilities, advanced packaging initiatives and India’s globally recognized semiconductor design talent, the presentation outlined a roadmap for the country to strengthen its capabilities in semiconductor design, manufacturing, testing and innovation. The address further aligned this vision with the national objective of Viksit Bharat 2047, encouraging stronger collaboration among industry, academia, policymakers and the IEEE community to build indigenous semiconductor testing expertise and AI-enabled validation capabilities.
