Bondada Engineering Ltd. has secured a Notification of Award (NOA) from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL) for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) package of a 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Energy Storage System (VRFB BESS) at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat.
According to the company’s announcement, the project will be executed with Delectrik Systems Pvt. Ltd. serving as the technology partner. The project involves developing a large-scale vanadium redox flow battery energy storage system designed to support renewable energy integration and improve grid reliability. The award marks another milestone for Bondada Engineering as it expands its presence in India’s rapidly growing energy storage sector. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are increasingly being deployed to address the intermittency of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, while enhancing grid stability and operational flexibility.

Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) technology is recognized for its long operational life, scalability and ability to deliver extended-duration energy storage. Unlike conventional lithium-ion batteries, VRFB systems are well suited for large utility-scale applications that require frequent charging and discharging over extended periods. Khavda Solar Park located in Gujarat is among India’s largest renewable energy developments and plays an important role in the country’s clean energy transition. The addition of advanced energy storage infrastructure is expected to improve the integration of renewable power into the national grid.
The collaboration between Bondada Engineering and Delectrik Systems combines EPC execution capabilities with specialized flow battery technology to support the successful implementation of the project. Following the announcement, Bondada Engineering’s shares traded higher during Monday’s session, reflecting positive investor sentiment after the company secured the NTPC Renewable Energy order.
