In a significant development for India’s semiconductor manufacturing ambitions, the Government of India has officially notified Polymatech Electronics Limited’s Special Economic Zone (SEZ) dedicated to semiconductor and electronic component manufacturing at Mandir Hasaud, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh.
The notification, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department of Commerce through Gazette Notification S.O. 3675(E), formally designates more than 10 hectares of land for the project. The notified area includes Plot Nos. 17/A, 17/B and 16/1A and follows the Letter of Approval granted to the company for developing, operating and maintaining the SEZ.
The approval marks another step in India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing and expand the country’s electronics production ecosystem through dedicated industrial infrastructure.
Implications for India’s Electronics Ecosystem
Special Economic Zones continue to play an important role in attracting investments by offering dedicated infrastructure, simplified regulatory processes and improved logistics support for export-oriented industries. For semiconductor manufacturing, where supply chains depend on efficient movement of high-value equipment and components, such infrastructure can help improve operational efficiency while supporting long-term manufacturing expansion.
With the Nava Raipur notification, Polymatech aims to establish a semiconductor and electronic components manufacturing base capable of serving both domestic and international markets.
The Government notification also constitutes the Approval Committee for the SEZ and specifies that the notified area will be deemed an Inland Container Depot under the Customs Act, 1962, from 06th July 2026. This is expected to facilitate customs procedures and support export-oriented manufacturing operations.
Supporting India’s Semiconductor Ecosystem
India has significantly accelerated its semiconductor ambitions in recent years through policy initiatives designed to encourage manufacturing, packaging, assembly, testing and component production. Projects such as the Polymatech SEZ contribute to the broader objective of creating a stronger semiconductor ecosystem by expanding manufacturing capacity, developing skilled talent and strengthening supply chains. The company believes the location offers strong industrial infrastructure, connectivity and long-term manufacturing potential.

CEO Speaks
Speaking on the development, Mr. Eswara Rao Nandam, Managing Director & CEO, Polymatech Electronics Limited said: “The notification of Polymatech’s semiconductor and electronic components SEZ at Nava Raipur is an important milestone in our manufacturing journey. We are grateful to the Government of India and the Government of Chhattisgarh for their continued support and guidance. India’s semiconductor ecosystem requires multiple strong manufacturing nodes, and Polymatech is committed to building a deep, reliable and export-oriented electronics and semiconductor manufacturing base from India.”
He further added: “Nava Raipur and Atal Nagar offer strong potential for advanced manufacturing, with well-planned infrastructure, reliable power availability, strong connectivity and a supportive industrial ecosystem. This SEZ framework will help us move forward in a disciplined manner, create skilled employment, and contribute to India’s long-term semiconductor and electronics value chain.”
Looking Ahead
Polymatech stated that it will continue working with the relevant authorities to develop infrastructure and operationalize the notified Special Economic Zone. The company also indicated that the project will be developed using its own resources through a capital-disciplined approach, reflecting its long-term strategy of building self-reliant semiconductor and electronics manufacturing capabilities in India.
The notification marks another step in India’s efforts to strengthen its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. As investment in semiconductor infrastructure continues to expand, projects such as the Polymatech Semiconductor and Electronics SEZ are expected to support domestic manufacturing, exports and the long-term growth of India’s electronics and semiconductor value chain.
