Octillion has successfully completed a full-scale conversion to solar power at one of its three EV battery system manufacturing facilities in India. This milestone underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability across the entire life cycle of its electric vehicle (EV) battery systems, marking the establishment of a factory that now operates entirely on 100% carbon-free energy.

This facility is the first among Octillion’s manufacturing sites to achieve a complete transition to 100% solar energy. The milestone forms a key part of the company’s broader sustainability strategy, which targets carbon-neutral operations across all India-based facilities through solar power generation by 2027.

Spanning approximately 8,200 square meters, about the size of two football fields, the facility represents a remarkable achievement in sustainable manufacturing. It produces 3 GWh of annual battery capacity for India’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market. With the addition of a rooftop solar installation generating around 545 MWh of clean energy each year, the plant now fully meets its power requirements through renewable sources.
Inaugurated in June 2023, the Pune facility began its solar conversion in June 2024 and reached full solar-powered operations by July 2025, completing the transformation in just 13 months.
