TKIL Industries has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) to explore collaboration in sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and advanced green technologies, with green hydrogen emerging as a key area of discussion.
The MoU was signed by Vivek Bhatia, Managing Director and CEO of TKIL Industries, and Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General of TERI, at TERI’s India Habitat Centre (IHC) office in the presence of senior representatives from both organizations.
Green Hydrogen Adoption in Focus
Discussions between the two organizations highlighted the opportunities and challenges associated with scaling hydrogen adoption in India. The interaction emphasized the importance of pilot projects, infrastructure development, market creation and collaborative research in building a robust hydrogen ecosystem.
The participants also discussed the need for innovation and improved cost competitiveness to support wider hydrogen adoption. Exploring diverse hydrogen pathways was identified as another important consideration in advancing India’s long-term energy transition objectives.
The discussions underscored the importance of collaboration between industry and research institutions in addressing the technological and commercial challenges associated with emerging clean energy solutions.
Partnership to Cover Wider Sustainability Initiatives
Beyond hydrogen, the MoU provides a framework for exploring collaborative initiatives across clean energy, sustainable agriculture, green technologies, policy engagement and community-led sustainability.
During the interaction, Rashmi Murali, Fellow at TERI presented an overview of the ongoing CSR project and the TKIL–TERI collaboration framework. The presentation outlined opportunities for joint action across the identified areas.
The partnership brings together TKIL Industries’ industrial expertise and TERI’s research capabilities to explore approaches to sustainability and the development of green technologies.
Strengthening Industry-Research Collaboration
As India advances its clean energy transition, collaboration between industry and research institutions is becoming increasingly important in addressing the technological and commercial challenges associated with emerging energy solutions.
The TKIL Industries-TERI partnership brings together industrial expertise and research capabilities to explore opportunities across green hydrogen, clean technologies and sustainability. The collaboration also extends to sustainable agriculture, policy engagement and community-led initiatives, broadening its focus beyond hydrogen adoption.
