Across India’s evolving energy landscape, a clear shift is underway, one that places precision, intelligence, and reliability at the heart of industrial progress. This transformation was also evident following WIKA’s participation at ELECRAMA 2025, where changing industry priorities came into sharp focus.

According to Mr. Gaurav Bawa, Sr. Vice President, WIKA India, customers have been increasingly prioritizing efficiency, reliability, and renewable energy integration across the power value chain. He also highlighted strong interest in high-accuracy instrumentation and digital monitoring solutions that can reduce downtime and enhance operational stability, signalling a broader move towards automation and long-term performance consistency.

At India Energy Week 2026, WIKA showcased a broad range of measurement products across the energy landscape, including devices for gas monitoring switchgear, nuclear, solar and wind energy and calibration systems. “Our solutions demonstrate how precise measurement, digital connectivity, and real-time monitoring support higher efficiency, operational transparency, and predictive maintenance across power, petrochemical, hydrogen, and oil & gas applications,” said Mr. Gaurav Bawa. This aligns with industry needs for safer, more reliable, and future-ready energy operations.

As India advances its energy transition, WIKA’s hydrogen-ready instrumentation with high-pressure capability, permeation-resistant diaphragm seals, and specialized valves and fittings demonstrates readiness for evolving hydrogen applications. Our hydrogen-ready instrumentation and smart sensing capabilities help operators improve efficiency, optimize asset health, and maintain reliability in increasingly complex and cleaner energy environments,” Mr. Gaurav Bawa noted.

“Digitalization is transforming WIKA’s portfolio by shifting from standalone instruments to connected, intelligent measurement ecosystems.” Mr. Gaurav Bawa highlighted. At IEW 2026, the company demonstrated how wireless-enabled devices, cloud dashboards, and integrated monitoring platforms provide real-time insights, enable early anomaly detection, and support faster decision-making across distributed assets. This approach is aligned with WIKA’s business strategy, integrating sensors, communication technologies, and analytics to support predictive maintenance and data-driven process stability.

In India, the oil & gas and power sectors continue to drive strong demand for high-reliability pressure and temperature instrumentation, gas density monitoring solutions, and calibration systems that support safety and operational continuity. WIKA enables these industries with robust, safety-focused measurement solutions suitable for demanding environments. “The growing focus on connected sensors and audit-ready calibration data is strengthening reliability and compliance across industries,” Mr. Gaurav Bawa emphasized.

A recent example comes from WIKA’s collaboration with BPCL at the SulGas platform, where a Linear Thermocouple System was deployed for refractory health monitoring in the sulphur recovery unit at the Kochi refinery. “The system enabled early detection of refractory hotspots, better corrosion-risk mitigation, improved operator safety, and reduced the likelihood of unplanned shutdowns,” Mr. Gaurav Bawa shared, underlining the value of real-time insights in enhancing operational efficiency.

WIKA adapts its global expertise to the Indian market through localized manufacturing, region-specific engineering, and strict adherence to international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and NABL accreditation for calibration services. Its facilities in Faridabad, Pune, Ghaziabad, and Chennai enable faster delivery, cost-effective solutions, and customization, including specialized diaphragm seal configurations, high-pressure assemblies, and application-specific calibration support.

“Our localized manufacturing and engineering capabilities ensure faster delivery, cost-effective solutions, customization, and compliance with global standards,” said Mr. Gaurav Bawa, highlighting the company’s ability to align global expertise with local needs. This combination of German engineering and India-focused development ensures relevance, reliability, and compliance across diverse industry requirements.

Looking ahead, WIKA’s growth strategy in India focuses on expanding digital and IIoT-enabled offerings, strengthening its calibration ecosystem, and delivering value-engineered solutions tailored to industry-specific needs. “We are investing in connected sensors, wireless communication modules, cloud-enabled monitoring platforms, and advanced calibration technologies to support Industry 4.0 adoption across oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power, and renewable energy sectors,” Mr. Gaurav Bawa concluded. These investments are set to play a pivotal role in advancing Industry 4.0 adoption across these sectors.
