Bluebird Solar Private Limited has secured a 439.35 MW solar PV module supply order from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), strengthening its position in India’s utility-scale solar manufacturing market.

Under the contract, Bluebird Solar will supply its M10R N-Type TOPCon Dual-Glass Bifacial solar PV modules for NTPC Renewable Energy’s solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The high-efficiency modules are designed to deliver improved energy output, enhanced durability, and reliable long-term performance, making them suitable for large-scale solar installations. The contract adds to Bluebird Solar’s portfolio of utility-scale projects and comes as India’s demand for domestically manufactured solar modules continues to grow.

Strengthening India’s Solar Manufacturing Ecosystem

The latest order highlights the increasing demand for domestically manufactured high-efficiency solar modules as India accelerates its clean energy transition. Utility-scale developers are increasingly adopting advanced N-Type TOPCon technology due to its higher efficiency, improved performance in varying climatic conditions, and longer operational lifespan compared with conventional module technologies.

For Bluebird Solar, the project further reinforces its growing presence in the country’s utility-scale solar segment while supporting NTPC Renewable Energy’s ongoing renewable energy expansion.

Manufacturing Capacity Supports Large-Scale Projects

Bluebird Solar currently operates a 2.5 GW fully automated solar PV module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The facility incorporates automated production lines and quality control systems designed to manufacture high-performance solar modules for utility-scale, commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

The company said its continued investments in manufacturing technology are aimed at improving product reliability and meeting the growing demand for advanced photovoltaic modules across India’s renewable energy market.

Expansion Plans Extend Beyond Solar Modules

In addition to expanding its module business, Bluebird Solar plans to establish 2.5 GW integrated manufacturing capacities covering solar cells, wafers, ingots, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The proposed expansion is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, improve supply chain integration, and support India’s ambition of becoming a global hub for clean energy manufacturing.

Expanding Presence in Utility-Scale Solar

The 439.35 MW supply contract reflects the growing preference for high-efficiency solar module technologies in India’s utility-scale renewable energy sector. As developers pursue larger solar installations with improved performance and lower lifecycle costs, advanced technologies such as N-Type TOPCon modules are expected to play an increasingly important role in future projects.

The order also highlights continued momentum in domestic solar manufacturing as India seeks to expand local production under its clean energy and self-reliance initiatives.
