Ingeteam has introduced the INGECON SUN STORAGE M Series, a new modular central inverter developed for large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) applications. According to the company, the solution is designed for energy storage projects of up to 4.55 MW, supporting the growing demand for scalable and flexible storage infrastructure.
The launch comes as battery energy storage continues to play an increasingly important role in enabling renewable energy integration, enhancing grid stability and supporting the transition toward cleaner energy systems.
The INGECON SUN STORAGE M Series is designed for AC-coupled battery energy storage applications and supports battery voltage ranges of up to 1,500 Vdc. The inverter can operate in both Grid Following and Grid Forming modes, providing adaptability for a variety of grid requirements and operating conditions.
A key feature of the platform is its modular architecture, which has been developed to offer greater flexibility for utility-scale battery storage projects. According to Ingeteam, the design helps simplify installation, operation and maintenance while allowing system configurations to be adapted to project-specific requirements.
The inverter also incorporates liquid-cooling technology to support thermal management and reliable operation in demanding energy storage environments. The company states that the solution is intended to facilitate efficient battery integration while addressing the evolving needs of large-scale storage deployments.
As global investments in battery energy storage continue to increase, technologies that improve flexibility, reliability and scalability are becoming increasingly important. With the introduction of the INGECON SUN STORAGE M Series, Ingeteam is expanding its portfolio of energy storage solutions aimed at supporting next-generation power infrastructure and renewable energy projects worldwide.
