The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids for the development of 700 MW of Inter State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power projects under a tariff-based competitive bidding process.

According to the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT), the projects will be developed on a Build Own Operate (BOO) basis in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) or Export Oriented Unit (EOU) areas. The tender has been issued on behalf of a Commercial and Industrial (C&I) consumer, with successful bidders expected to enter into a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI.

The initiative forms part of SECI’s continued efforts to facilitate renewable energy procurement through competitive bidding while supporting the expansion of solar power capacity across the country.

Key Highlights of the Tender

The tender seeks proposals from eligible solar power developers for the establishment of an aggregate capacity of 700 MW of ISTS-connected Solar PV projects. The projects will be developed under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (C&I-1) framework, where eligible developers can participate by submitting bids in accordance with the requirements specified in the tender documents.

As outlined in the NIT, the projects are to be established in SEZ or EOU areas and implemented under the BOO model. Successful bidders will execute long-term Power Purchase Agreements with SECI for a period of 25 years.

Invitation to Developers

SECI has invited interested and eligible bidders to participate in the tender process as per the timelines and eligibility criteria specified in the bidding documents. Developers are expected to review the complete Request for Selection (RfS) document and related annexures before submitting their proposals.

The tender documents provide details regarding technical requirements, qualification criteria, bidding procedures, timelines and other conditions applicable to participating developers.
