Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced the launch of its new DLA 04051 series of vPolyTan polymer surface-mount chip capacitors. These capacitors are engineered for high-reliability applications within the aerospace, military, and space (AMS) markets and comply with the latest Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) 04051 military specifications.
The DLA 04051 series is characterized by ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR), reaching as low as 25 milliohms, which is significantly lower than conventional tantalum capacitors. This feature makes them ideal for use in power supplies, radios, radars, transponders, and energy storage modules in AMS systems. The capacitors cover a broad capacitance range from 4.7 μF to 680 μF and support voltage ratings between 2.5 V and 63 V. Their long-term reliability is validated through rigorous testing—2000 hours at 125 °C.

Beyond electrical performance, these capacitors provide robust mechanical reliability. They withstand shock resistance up to 500 g, meet MIL-STD-202-204 Level D vibration standards, and endure 10 thermal shock cycles in accordance with MIL-STD-202-107.
