NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), has floated an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the supply of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules to facilitate its forthcoming 1,000 MW solar power projects at Lalitpur and Chitrakoot solar parks in Uttar Pradesh. The projects are part of NTPC’s larger commitment to India’s renewable energy transition.
The tender involves the procurement of at least 570 Wp high-efficiency bifacial crystalline PV modules from those manufacturers who have been put on the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The total Direct Current (DC) capacity to be procured under the scheme is around 1,450 MWp, divided in three project blocks.
This comes after NTPC REL’s victory in UPPCL’s 2,000 MW solar tender a few months ago where it won 1,000 MW at a competitive tariff of ₹2.56/kWh. A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with UPPCL was inked in June 2025, laying the groundwork for project implementation.
The last date for the submission of bids under the IFB is August 19, 2025.
