Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has set a revenue from operations target of ₹24,000 crores for FY2026-27 under its annual performance-based Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The SECI roadmap also outlines targets for renewable energy trading, capital expenditure, project execution and financial performance.

SECI’s FY27 Targets Extend Beyond Revenue

Alongside the revenue target, SECI aims to trade 80,000 million units (MU) of renewable energy and incur capital expenditure of ₹2,825 crores. The MoU also sets an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) target of ₹1,223 crores, a 19% return on net worth and a 100% target for project execution under the applicable assessment framework.

Other benchmarks include operating cash flow equivalent to 6% of revenue from operations, earnings per share of ₹673, an asset turnover ratio of 184.60% and research and development expenditure of 4.48% of the average profit before tax over the preceding three years.

Pumped Storage and New Market Mechanisms on the Agenda

The MoU identifies three administrative ministry priorities for FY27: awarding a tender for Round-the-Clock Thermal Mimic, a pumped storage plant and a tender under the Contract for Difference (CfD) mechanism. These carry weightages of two, two and one points, respectively.

SECI and MNRE Sign Annual Performance MoU

The annual performance MoU was signed by Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, MNRE and Shri Joshit Sikidar, Director (Finance), SECI at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi in the presence of senior officials from both organizations.

Commenting on the agreement, Shri Joshit Sikidar said, “SECI remains committed to building on its strong performance record and to playing a leading role in the development of India’s renewable energy sector. Alongside our core activities, we will continue to strengthen our presence in new and emerging areas in support of the nation’s clean energy transition.”
