Optical Gaging Products (OGP), a leading manufacturer of precision optical and multisensor metrology systems, has launched the SmartScope E18, a high-capacity benchtop video measurement system that delivers fully automatic 3-axis measurement performance in a compact footprint.
The SmartScope E18 pairs a generous XY measuring range with a space-efficient benchtop design, enabling automated dimensional inspection without consuming significant floor space. Its compact form factor makes it ideal for production floors, quality labs, and other environments where space is at a premium.
At the core of the SmartScope E18 is OGP’s IntelliCentric-E fixed-lens optical system, which delivers high-resolution imaging for precise video-based measurements. Integrated VIRTUAL ZOOM technology further enhances image detail and measurement capability, allowing operators to efficiently inspect a wide variety of part features.

The SmartScope E18 comes equipped with a comprehensive LED lighting system as standard. Coaxial, substage profile, and SmartRing illumination offer flexible lighting options to highlight diverse part features and optimize image contrast during measurement.
Built for Measurement Stability
A new compact fixed-bridge design, paired with a heavy-duty base, delivers a rigid and stable structure engineered for accurate, repeatable measurements. The system’s orthogonal construction helps preserve measurement stability while maintaining a compact overall footprint.

Multisensor Capability
For applications that require more than video measurement, the SmartScope E18 can be fitted with an optional touch probe, expanding its capabilities to multisensor measurement. This enables manufacturers to combine optical and tactile inspection within a single automated platform.

Metrology Software Capability
As with all E-Series systems, the SmartScope E18 comes standard with easy-to-use Measure-X software. For applications requiring full 3D capability and other advanced software functionality, ZONE3 software is now also available on SmartScope E-Series systems.
