Suzlon Group has secured a significant order to develop Waaree Group’s first utility-scale wind energy project, marking a strategic collaboration between two of India’s leading renewable energy companies. The project involves the development of a 201.6 MW wind power facility in Andhra Pradesh for Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of Waaree Group.
The partnership is noteworthy as it brings together two established players that have individually built strong positions in India’s renewable energy sector, with Suzlon in wind energy and Waaree in solar manufacturing and solutions. The project also reflects the increasing adoption of integrated renewable energy development models that simplify execution and accelerate project delivery.
As renewable energy projects continue to grow in scale and complexity, integrated project delivery models such as DevCo are becoming increasingly popular for streamlining execution, minimizing development risks, and improving project efficiency. For the Andhra Pradesh project, Suzlon will deploy 64 S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The company will provide end-to-end EPC services, including land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP) works, project commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance.
