JSW Energy Limited has successfully commissioned 250 MW of renewable energy capacity since April 2026, comprising 130 MW of wind capacity, 69.4 MW of solar capacity, and the 50 MW Tidong Hydro Plant. Following this addition, the company’s total installed power generation capacity has increased to 13.7 GW, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio.
The company also announced that Tidong Unit-I was commissioned in record time after its acquisition in January 2026, highlighting JSW Energy’s strong project execution capabilities and efficient integration of acquired assets. The development is expected to help the company capitalize on the ongoing hydro season, while the remaining two units of the Tidong Hydro Plant are scheduled for commissioning by June 2026.
With these additions, renewable energy now accounts for 59% of JSW Energy’s overall installed capacity. The company’s renewable portfolio includes 3,924 MW of wind capacity, 2,440 MW of solar capacity including hybrid projects, and 1,681 MW of hydro capacity.
JSW Energy Limited currently has a total locked-in power generation capacity of 32.1 GW, including 13.7 GW of operational capacity and 13.8 GW under construction across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy projects, along with an additional development pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company plans to add 3 GW of renewable energy capacity during FY27 and has outlined a capital expenditure plan of ₹20,000 crores for the financial year.
In the energy storage segment, JSW Energy has secured 29.6 GWh of locked-in storage capacity, comprising 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). As part of its long-term growth strategy, the company aims to achieve 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, while targeting carbon neutrality by 2050.
