HrdWyr, a global fabless semiconductor product company, has announced the successful closure of its $13 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Ideaspring Capital, with participation from Singularity AMC, Avatar Growth Capital, and Persistent Systems. The funding will support the advancement of HrdWyr’s AI-native System-on-Chip (AISoC) products and help expand its customer engagements across key global markets.
HrdWyr is reimagining semiconductor design for an AI-driven era. The company develops proprietary AI-native chips built from the ground up, based on the belief that traditional general-purpose architectures are no longer sufficient to handle today’s data-intensive workloads at the edge. Its AISoCs are purpose-built for specific industry applications, enabling intelligent edge processing, improved power efficiency, ultra-low latency, and simplified system design.
At the core of its innovation strategy is the vision of True Edge Autonomy (TEA), powered by an agentic AI stack driven by Reinforcement Learning (RL), designed to unlock the full performance potential of its AISoC platform.

Commenting on the fundraise, Ramamurthy Sivakumar, Founder and CEO, HrdWyr, said, “The real power of AI will be unlocked as we enter the era of Physical AI, where advanced intelligence seamlessly integrates with real-world systems. This inflection point demands a fundamental rethinking of how computing systems are conceived, architected, and deployed. It calls for a structural reset of the semiconductor stack, with IP and products designed for AI processing from first principles, not as an afterthought. We encapsulate these ideas under the TEA framework. At HrdWyr, we don’t just build chips, we partner with our customers to solve domain-specific challenges and enable them to lead this transition to Physical AI, rather than simply adapt to it.”
Naganand Doraswamy, Managing Partner and Founder, Ideaspring Capital, said, “HrdWyr is building a family of AI chips addressing power management and efficiency across multiple sectors, including white goods, EVs and data centres. This is very important to Ideaspring’s thesis of building products from India for the world and also becoming self-reliant in semiconductors. We are proud to partner with Siva, Ganesh, and their team, who have decades of experience in the semiconductor space. We look forward to partnering with them in the endeavour.”
Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director, Persistent Systems, said, “AI-led transformation is driving a fundamental shift in how the technology stack is built, with increasing convergence between semiconductors, data and intelligent software systems. Innovations in chip design will play a critical role in enabling next-generation enterprise and industrial applications. Our investment in HrdWyr reflects this direction and aligns with Persistent’s focus on AI-led, software-driven engineering. As these innovations scale, we see opportunities to contribute across the value chain, from data and platform engineering to embedded and enterprise systems. We believe HrdWyr is well-positioned to build globally relevant products from India, and we are pleased to support their growth journey.”
“HrdWyr’s focus on intelligent, energy-efficient systems and deep IP ownership, rather than generic compute, is differentiated. Through purpose-built AI-native chips (AISoC), HrdWyr enables Indian OEMs to de-risk supply chains, shorten product launch cycles, strengthen data sovereignty, and unlock new usage intelligence. The team’s multi-decade global semiconductor execution experience and strong ecosystem relationships are reflected in their rapid, capital-efficient progress from concept to tape-out and wafer-out, alongside customer design partnerships with boAt. Avatar is excited to partner closely as co-builders,” said Rajiv Gupta, Partner, Avatar Growth Capital (AGC).
HrdWyr operates as a full-stack, fabless semiconductor product company, differentiated from traditional IP licensing or services-led models. As one of India’s early AI-native chip companies with a global focus, it designs end-to-end semiconductor products for global markets. By integrating AI directly into the chip architecture, HrdWyr enables intelligence to operate at the point of data generation, allowing devices to sense, learn, and respond in real time. This approach is particularly relevant for high-volume, cost-sensitive markets where efficiency and responsiveness matter more than raw compute performance. The company recently announced a strategic collaboration with boAt, marking an early validation of its approach in the consumer technology segment.
HrdWyr is led by a seasoned team with over 250 years of collective expertise across the semiconductor value chain. The team has been at the forefront of technology transitions spanning nearly four decades, from 1 micron (1000 nm) to almost 1nm today. The team has designed and delivered chips across wireless, networking, compute, automotive, storage, and industrial verticals, with dozens of successful tape-outs and hundreds of products shipped globally. Their work has helped build several multi-billion-dollar businesses. The team brings deep operational experience across India, the US, APAC, Israel, and Europe. This breadth and depth of expertise allow HrdWyr to architect solutions for complex, real-world environments and work closely with customers to deliver tailored, high-impact innovations.
