Yazaki, a $17 billion legacy Japanese automotive parts giant with a presence in 46 countries, is expanding its footprint in India with nearly one million square feet across NCR, Hosur, and now Chennai. This expansion is in partnership with Horizon Industrial Parks, Blackstone’s logistics platform in India, renowned for its innovative plug-and-play manufacturing and warehousing infrastructure, offering over 50 million square feet of leasable space. Globally employing approximately 300,000 people and operating 12 plants in India, Yazaki is prioritizing modernization, sustainability, and safety through this collaboration.
A key supplier of wire harnesses to most OEMs in India, Yazaki is launching its third facility with Horizon Industrial Parks: a custom-built, 316,000-square-foot manufacturing unit in Chengalpattu Industrial Park, located in Chennai’s rapidly growing industrial corridor. This State-of-the-Art plant is designed for rooftop solar power integration and will employ over 2,000 workers.
Yazaki also operates two other facilities with Horizon: a 260,000-square-foot plug-and-play unit established in 2023 at Horizon Industrial Park Hosur and another of similar size in NCR’s Farukhnagar. Both parks set sustainability benchmarks and hold Platinum ratings from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
