Montra Electric has partnered with Steam-A to integrate the Iris EV Charging Management Suite into its Powerdock charging network, aiming to strengthen the charging infrastructure for its expanding electric small commercial vehicle (e-SCV) operations.

This collaboration will implement Steam-A’s AI-driven predictive maintenance system and real-time operational monitoring across Montra’s charging stations. The advanced technology is designed to reduce downtime, minimize operational costs, and provide actionable analytics for continuous service enhancement.

The partnership aligns with Montra Electric’s efforts to expand its footprint in the e-SCV market, following the launch of its EVIATOR vehicle. The Powerdock network is being developed to accommodate a growing customer base in commercial logistics.

Vishwanath Surendiran, Co-founder of Steam-A, emphasized their goal of delivering “industry-leading standards of reliability and customer experience” through this collaboration.

India’s EV charging infrastructure is rapidly evolving to keep pace with increasing electric vehicle adoption. Industry experts highlight that reliable charging networks are crucial for commercial fleet operators, as any downtime directly impacts business operations.

Montra Electric operates under the Murugappa Group, a 124-year-old conglomerate with a diverse portfolio spanning agriculture, engineering, and financial services. With over 83,500 employees and revenues of INR 77,881 crore, the group remains a major player in India’s business landscape.
